After working as a property manager, Heeji worked at Mary's Place, a women's and children's homeless shelter for 2 years to pursue her passion in serving women and families. After Mary's Place, she got her Bachelor's degree in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and the University of Miami.
